workshop aims to explore various perspectives on the role of hegemonic or
imperial actors in the post-Cold War era. Its working hypothesis posits that
hegemonic or imperial actors establish a form of order within their spheres of
influence that ensures a certain level of stability in the respective regions.
Overlooking these contributions leads to a narrow perception of "great
powers" within the volatile landscape of international security and ultimately
results in a significant underestimation of the benefits provided by hegemonic
or imperial actors. The workshop is designed to explore a balanced view of how
hegemonic or imperial actors might contribute to the international order,
