The conference aims to explore the limits and crossings between the incommensurable discourses of and on life and its limits in medicine, literature, and philosophy from the Romantic Age to the present. How has “life” been conceptualised, narrated, diagnosed,
measured, aestheticised, politicised, and its notion contested across these domains? What happens when biological, philosophical, and literary understandings of life intersect — or fail to translate into one another? </div>

From Enlightenment vitalism and Romantic theories of organism and imagination to modern biopolitics, epidemiology, and posthuman thought, the concept of life has remained both foundational and unstable. Medical science has sought to define and preserve life, philosophy
has interrogated its meaning and limits, and literature has explored its experiential, ethical, and narrative dimensions. Yet these discourses often remain partially incompatible, revealing tensions between scientific description, philosophical reflection,
and narrative representation. </div>

munkássága új irányokat jelölt ki a filozófia és a társadalomtudományok különböző területein, meghatározó módon járult hozzá a háború utáni Németország demokratikus fejlődéséhez, fontos szerepet játszott az európai integráció szellemi horizontjának alakításában,
és a liberális-demokratikus gondolkodás egyik fő teljesítményeként fejtette ki hatását világszerte. A Frankfurti Iskola második generációjának tagjaként számon tartott gondolkodó fő művében,
<i>A kommunikatív cselekvés elméleté</i>ben a kritikai elmélet hegeliánus-marxista hagyományától elfordulva és
</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 14.67px; color: black;">az interszubjektív racionalitás elvére alapozva</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 11pt; color: black;"> a társadalomelmélet új paradigmáját
dolgozta ki az analitikus filozófia, az amerikai pragmatizmus és szociológiai hagyomány intenzív recepcióját követően. Munkásságának középpontjában a kommunikatív racionalitás, rendszer és életvilág megkülönböztetése, az életvilág gyarmatosításának kritikája,
a diskurzusetika, jog és demokrácia diskurzuselméleti összefüggése, a posztnemzeti konstelláció, az alkotmányos patriotizmus, valamint a metafizika utáni gondolkodás problémája áll. Az életművet a modernitás potenciáljának megőrzésére és kibontakoztatására
irányuló törekvés hatja át a korai, markánsan rendszerkritikai munkáktól kezdve egészen az utóbbi években publikált írásokig.</span></p>

a habermasi életművet. Tematikus megkötés nélkül örömmel fogadunk minden előadás-tervezetet, amely Habermas filozófiájának és társadalomelméletének bármely aspektusához kapcsolódik: legyen szó a központi fogalmakról, a legjelentősebb vagy a kevésbé ismert

<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 11pt;">A 20. és 21. század egyik legnagyobb hatású filozófusa és szociológusa, az idén márciusban elhunyt Jürgen Habermas nyolc évtizedet átívelő filozófiai, társadalomelméleti, publicisztikai munkássága
új irányokat jelölt ki a filozófia és a társadalomtudományok különböző területein, meghatározó módon járult hozzá a háború utáni Németország demokratikus fejlődéséhez, fontos szerepet játszott az európai integráció szellemi horizontjának alakításában, és a
liberális-demokratikus gondolkodás egyik fő teljesítményeként fejtette ki hatását világszerte. A Frankfurti Iskola második generációjának tagjaként számon tartott gondolkodó fő művében,
<i>A kommunikatív cselekvés elméleté</i>ben a kritikai elmélet hegeliánus-marxista hagyományától elfordulva és
</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 14.67px;">az interszubjektív racionalitás elvére alapozva</span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: 11pt;"> a társadalomelmélet új paradigmáját dolgozta ki az analitikus
filozófia, az amerikai pragmatizmus és szociológiai hagyomány intenzív recepcióját követően. Munkásságának középpontjában a kommunikatív racionalitás, rendszer és életvilág megkülönböztetése, az életvilág gyarmatosításának kritikája, a diskurzusetika, jog
és demokrácia diskurzuselméleti összefüggése, a posztnemzeti konstelláció, az alkotmányos patriotizmus, valamint a metafizika utáni gondolkodás problémája áll. Az életművet a modernitás potenciáljának megőrzésére és kibontakoztatására irányuló törekvés hatja
át a korai, markánsan rendszerkritikai munkáktól kezdve egészen az utóbbi években publikált írásokig.</span></p>
