I am hoping that you will agree to post this ad to the philphys list. We
plan to give strong consideration to candidates in philosophy of physics;
our Department has specific needs in this area and there is a possibility
of teaching as well. The applicant must, however, be familiar with the
"complex systems" literature.

      227. UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY, Calgary, ALBERTA, Canada. The
      Department of Philosophy at the University of Calgary invites
      applications for a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in the
      history and philosophy of science. The fellowship is funded
      by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in a grant
      awarded to the Centre for the Study of Social and Physical
      Environments and Health. The purpose of the fellowship is to
      review work in the philosophy of science on complex systems
      and to investigate what applications this philosophical work
      has for health researchers who design large scale
      interventions to improve population health. The fellow will
      be a member of the Department of Philosophy and is expected
      to engage in the research life of the Department as well as
      be an active member of the History and Philosophy of Science
      Research Group. All Ph.D. requirements must be completed by
      the starting date of July 1, 2005. The stipend is $36,750
      Canadian per year. A computer is provided along with a travel
      allowance for attendance at national and international
      meetings associated with the work program. More information
