Job advertisement 1 postdoc 80% and 2 PhD positions 100% at the University of Lausanne, research project “Parsimonious ontology and the relationship between science and persons” funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

The aim of the project is to explore how a parsimonious, but scientific realist ontology may shed new light on the relationship between the physical domain and the ontology of persons, in particular as regards time / temporal becoming / open future as related to free will / freedom / normativity.

Accordingly, the positions require a specific, rather tight profile: postdoc with PhD in philosophy, specialization in philosophy of physics, in particular time, proven ability to build a bridge to metaphysics and the philosophy of mind, outstanding publication record (at least 3 papers in first rate journals in philosophy of science). PhD students with specialization in philosophy of science (including social science), capacity to link philosophy of science with the ontology of persons. The positions are for 4 years, starting in autumn 2021. To apply, please e-mail short statement of research interests (max. 1 page) and CV to Michael.Esfeld at unil.ch<mailto:Michael.Esfeld at unil.ch> by 11 avril.
