Department of Philosophy, Logic, and Scientific Method (50%)
& Department of Government (50%)

Lecturer in Political Science and Philosophy (fixed-term for three
years)

Salary is competitive and not less than £41,041 (bottom of the pay band)
pa incl. Starting date: 1 October 2013

This post is a temporary replacement for Professor Christian List, who
has been awarded a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship and will be on
research leave during the relevant period. The successful candidate will
be based in the Department of Philosophy, Logic, and Scientific Method
(50%) and in the Department of Government (50%) and should be able to
teach in both Departments.

Candidates should work in one (or more) of the following areas: analytic
political science (with philosophical interests), political or moral
philosophy, rational or social choice theory, philosophy of the social
sciences, philosophy of economics, philosophically oriented game theory.
Candidates with interdisciplinary backgrounds are particularly
encouraged to apply. An interest in participating in the LSE's Political
Theory and Choice Group research activities is also desirable.

Candidates should demonstrate analytically oriented research interests
in the overlap of political science and philosophy. You should have
excellent research and teaching skills, teaching experience and a
developing record of high-quality publications. You should also be
willing to contribute actively to the academic life of the two
departments. You should have completed your PhD or be near completion by
the time of appointment.
