Call for Applications :

 

TWO DOCTORAL STUDENTS

in the project : 

'THEORIES OF COGNITION IN THE ARISTOTELIAN COMMENTATORS'

 

University of Geneva

Department of Philosophy

 

The Department of Philosophy in Geneva solicits applications for two
doctoral students, starting 1 September 2018 for 48 months. The two
positions are funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation grant
'THEORIES OF COGNITION IN THE ARISTOTELIAN COMMENTATORS'.

 

The successful candidates will be expected to write a PhD thesis in the
areas 

(i)                 Memory and Recollection in the Aristotelian
Commentators, and  

(ii)               Experience and Concept Formation in the Aristotelian
Commentators, 

as described in the summary of the project below. They will also be expected
to write and publish a couple of articles on relevant topics.

 

The successful candidates will live in Geneva, have an office at the
Department of Philosophy and receive a salary of 47.040 CHF (first year),
48.540 CHF (second year) and 50.040 CHF (third/fourth year).
