List Members,
my department (philosophy) has an open position for a philosopher of
science, preferably physics, preferably foundations of QM/QFT. The
Universität Erfurt is the youngest state university in Germany (and one
of the smallest: 4000 students). Living expenses in Erfurt are lower
than on average in Germany, yet the city (pop. 200 000) and has enough
cultural facilities to be called interesting, plus it's located in the
very center of Germany.
The position is renewable for up to another 3 years. The position holder
will be expected to teach two (two hour) courses per term (one ad lib).
Teaching can be in English, but a working knowledge of German is an
asset. Switching into the German system (i.e. writing and defending a
Habilitation) is possible, but not required. Residency in Erfurt
througout the year (not only during term time) is required.
If you have a record of work or just a promising project in foundations
of QM/QFT, please consider applying. Details of the position follow below.
