[PhilPhys] Junior Research Fellowship in Philosophy of Physics/Time, Oriel College

The College proposes to elect a fixed-term Junior Research Fellow in
Philosophy for two years with effect from 1 October 2008.
The Fellowship has been created as a result of the award to Dr Oliver
Pooley of a Philip Leverhulme Prize, with a dditional funding from the
John Fell OUP Research Fund. Applications are welcome from those
working in any area of the Philosophy of Physics (broadly construed).
The main duty of the fellow will be to undertake research. They will
also be required to undertake an average of four hours teaching per
week for the College during term time. The Fellow will be expected to
teach introductory and intermediate logic and at least one other
subject (the College has teaching needs in Philosophy of Science and
Philosophy of Mind). The appointee will also be expected to take part
in the admissions exercise and to share in the organization of tuition
for undergraduates.
In the first year the stipend will be in the range £17,169 to £18,180,
according to experience, rising to a maximum of £18,710 in year two.
(All figures are under review.) In addition, the post carries a
research allowance (currently £1,400 per annum). The Fellow will be
provided with an office in College or, if preferred, single living-in
accommodation from the College (subject to availability).
