Dear all,
On Friday 13th Dec (provisional date, will be confirmed shortly on PhilEvents page) University of Bristol will host the third graduate (or within a year of completion) workshop on Philosophy of Physics on behalf of the BLOC (Bristol-London-Oxford-Cambridge) Group.
The idea is to have a relaxed and friendly day with opportunities to meet other grad students working on similar areas as well as present and get feedback on your own work. The workshop will be primarily in person and we expect all speakers to attend in person, however there will be a hybrid option for those who cannot make it and want to listen to the talks. We welcome submissions from students at any stage (Masters students, PhD students, and those who submitted their thesis within the last year) and you do not
have to be part of the BLOC universities to apply. Attendance is open to everyone regardless of career stage!
We are looking for abstracts of 150-300 words on the topic of philosophy of physics suitable for presentations of 30mins. Work on philosophy of science, metaphysics of science and other related areas will also be considered. You are welcome to send in work in progress or things you want to try out as the aim of the workshop will be to develop ideas and get feedback. Please submit your abstract through the form linked below by Wed 7th Oct. We will aim to let accepted speakers know within a couple weeks of this date.
We have some funds available to assist with travel costs for speakers.
