Dear all,
We are delighted to announce the workshop "Kefalonia Foundations 2025:
Theoretical and Conceptual Foundations of Quantum Physics,” which for
the fourth time will gather 17 young scholars (Ph.D. students, early
postdocs, etc.) on the beautiful island of Kefalonia (Greece) on June
22th-27th, 2025.
The workshop aims to challenge some of the drawbacks of the typical
academic environment, create a deep sense of cooperation, and promote
research in an open-minded and non-dogmatic way.
The focus will be on in-team research, where participants from different
backgrounds (physicists, philosophers, and mathematicians) will analyze
selected papers on the foundations of quantum physics, proposed by the
participants. This structure will lay the groundwork for original
research through collaborations established during the workshop.
Participants will be able to cultivate community values through shared
social and physical activities.
The applicants are asked to submit a short "Statement of Motivation"
(max. 1500 characters) to describe why they think this unconventional
workshop structure would suit them. After acceptance, participants will
form pairs and propose papers to be discussed at the workshop.
*Submit your application following the instructions on the dedicated
page no later than February 15th, 2025.*

All the best,
Flavio, Lefteris and Gui
