Dear all,

I am looking for a PhD student to work with me on a DFG project at TU 
Dresden, Germany, and the call for applications is closing soon 
(30.06.2025)!

The formal terms are as follows. The position is limited to 3 years as 
part of the DFG project “Progress through Principles: An Epistemology of 
Foundational Assumptions Guiding Contemporary Physics”. The period of 
employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act 
(Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position comprises 
65% of the full-time weekly hours [this is the rate at which you get 
paid — roughly speaking, 65% of someone’s full salary]. The position 
offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (usually PhD).

The Project examines the heuristic role of guiding principles in

*Tasks:*

-academic collaboration in the mentioned research project

-project coordination and support for project management

-independent research in philosophy of science and philosophy of physics 
in the mentioned field of study

*Requirements:*

-completed university degree (M.A./M.Sc. level) in philosophy or physics

-proficiency in English or German

-teamwork, communication skills, and initiative

-Interest in interdisciplinary work.
